Pandorathon-17-May 2020- Every Minute Counts

It was late night, post 1.30 pm
When I heard those footsteps again
He murmured something in tandem
So, I gathered he bought an accomplice to support his claim

I was prepared too, under the blanket I lay
With my ears transfixed to their hissing and whispers
He knelt closely to sneak a clear way
With his accomplice trying to knock off my blister

I had to act swiftly, without them knowing
While they silently tiptoed towards the end
I grabbed the newspaper, rolling
Frantically smacked the hell of them

On my blanket , I found my enemies with their eyes cold, dead
I had slowly turned to be a serial killer of mosquitoes with high risk on errand

Prompt- Shakesperean sonnet. The first twelve lines are divided into three quatrains with four lines each. The poem ends with a couplet ( two lines). There should be fourteen lines only. A single poem only Theme A murder scene, you are the murderer. Reason : It could be anything : you are a serial killer, jealousy, an enemy, a murder assignment, you could be a cop… Play with your dark side. Example : 1. Desdemona’s murder in Othello. 2. Browning’s Porphyria’s Lover.

Bizarre nights

The night has turned bizarre
With the clouded discoloured thoughts
That has knocked off the sleep away
Those hurtful moments surface
To the ceilings of my mind
Which refrain from going away
looming closer as the lights go off
As the bare eyes search for unresolved solace
and The silent tears lean on the pillow

A speck of Hope

Will this night die away in darkness

will it survive to see the dawn
Can it find the sun to lend some brightness
Or will it have to turn off like the stars

Frosty Night

Strong currents under the feet
Surpassing the tides of the cream
O ye winter night,
Hold on your reigns and move on gently
Walk in the light of the moon

On the road of the dark night
O ye winter night
Pull on your socks and let me wistfully sleep
