Rhymes of love

Photo by Asad Photo Maldives from Pexels

Under this beautiful ombre sky

When our hearts lurch for each other

Our feet dance in estcasy

Our eyes dwell in droplets of love

It is our contented souls that sync to

the rhymes of love

to stay as this everlasting captured

in our embrace, our intimacy and trust

that paints around us a circle of love

that weaves and surrounds us forever.

CLOSER TOWARDS DREAMS OR REALITY

Arushi Mathur- Brbun Illustrations

I opened my eyes to see the morning nestled in heaven
with the sun wearing his prism glasses glancing over at me
The rainbow hinted clouds swam ever so smoothly
over the shoulders of the mountains decked in specks of snow liberally

Ah, I wondered what season was it,
having a frame of snow laden mountains in a hot summer?
I rubbed my eyes to get a proper glimpse
to make sure it wasn’t just a fantasy dream or slumber!

My feet were tickled by the chrysanthemums, lilies and the roses
nudging my toes to quickly go under the cocoon of the greens
Did I reach the gates of the paradise so beautiful
That my soul suddenly desired to scream!

I gathered the mist inside my palms
Pearls of pristine white crystal dews
Cascading along with the chirping birds
A song of peace and tranquility they crooned

I felt an enigmatic rush of divine bliss
As the feeble current of the waters rowed
In a little lake amidst in this heaven of nirvana
Glittered and glowed wearing a majestic silver robe.

I drank a few sips of the nectar-like potion
While the icy wind passed by to its next travel distantly
I sat in the womb of a divine universe
Filled with its unique aura and miraculous simplicity.

In a while, I find few others join me in this retreat
Absorbing the vibes of this land of ethereal sanctuary
They too had come along to experience
The heaven on earth’s pristine glory.

Now, you may sure contemplate and wonder
Was this a dream after all?
Dear friend, these are just my penned words in tribute
But look carefully at that scenic beauty you enjoyed a while ago,
Weren’t you too present there afterall !

PANDORATHON – KNOWN /Unknown Friend

You found me spot on
Across the corridors of the hallway
Picking up tea and biscuits during the break
My over enthusiastic self was already all over the place
Just few hours ago, answering almost every question diligently
I did find your eyes hovering over my shoulder
That the collared brown jacket sent me instant hints to
People waved out to you for some random conversations
I was part of the gang too, so I had to oblige
This pretence wouldn’t last longer I wondered
As we both ended up standing closer than usual

My mind hovered to the night before
When we were drenched in rain
The blickering streetlight that focused
On our decisive faces
Leaning on your bike
enjoying the splash of the raindrops that thundered along
and the candid waves with our palms that traced the breadth of the beach.

Ouch, there was a huge ruckus in reality
Me jumping as I spilled some tea over the jacket
And He prancing forward with “ Noooo, not on my jacket !”
Suddenly we are being looked at intently with prying eyes
At my disheveled look and his sudden rage.
Later, that evening, I got a notification on FB
Someone unfriended me.

PANDORATHON- POETIC TWIST WITH ADVERTISEMENT TAG LINES

As The King of good times plonked his bum into the couch
After a hearty lunch, he sipped on Fresh N juicy Frooti
He felt a rush of blood gushing through his veins
That seemed to saying Where ever you go, our network follows
As his son who was known for his Bajate Raho attitudes
Had this time managed to create yet another ruckus
The Unputdownable kid was Born Tough with ideas
Had successfully placed a dart upright on the couch to aim it
vertically.
What could the poor king do,
After all, he wondered in pain, Tedha hai par mera hai
As the son kept mumbling Daddy,  Jiyo sar utha ke!

Pandorathon -13-May 2020-Fable Poem- Second Chance

(written Based on The Fox and The Grapes)

He landed yet another opportunity
To deal that could create new benchmark
Of his ability, agility that could be his new trademark
But, like the fox, he complained and whined
Of ill-fate and misery that doubled combined
The spark of his positivity had turned into sheer disdain
Once, a prime leader, today preferred to give away his claim
The treasure he owned, he trained himself not to use
Convincing himself that Life was at his ruse
Scorning at others, he did, who paved their way calling it a waste
You can sit and enjoy the fruits leisurely, he said, why haste
But, one day, came an order that got votes as majority
They decided to steal his limelight and shamed his disparity
Within a few months, stood an arch bridge hovering above his head
The Canal just remained a duct for no one to admire, confined into his own bed.

Prompt – Write a controversial poem. Use a fable in it, mix it with what everyone considers unnatural. Draw a picture with your poem’s words about something that shakes every possible ground of human conscious.
